A complaint about the practice of some road contractors in using small iron spikes for holding their lines iu place was received by the executive of the South Island Motor Union from the Automobile Association (Waimate). The Wainiate association contended .that the spikes could not easily bo seen by drivers of motor-cars, and that they’ were therefore dangerous. The union agreed to draw the attention of the Main Highways Board to the complaint.
