BUSY AT WEEK-END
Activity at Rongotai Considerable Hying activity marked the week-end in Wellington. On Saturday Mr. K. G. Smith, the nsi.sstant. instructor to the Wellington Aero Club, Hew the Waco cabin machine to Nelson, the Hight being a "rush order” to deliver films for screening that night in Nelson. Messrs. .1. Nelson and K. Anderson were passengers in the machine, which returned the same day to Wellington. The Marlborough Aero Club’s Waco was flown from Wellington to Blenheim by Mr. A. E. Willis, the passengers being .Messrs. G. M. Spence, A. A. McNab and E. D. Braiumall, who were in Wellington for the meeting of the New Zealand Aero Club. Messrs. S. Gilkison and A. E. W. McDonald, who flew a Southland Aero Club Moth to Wellington on Thursday, left on Saturday for Invercargill, and Flying Officer J. M. Buckeridge and Mr. 11. Preston called at Wellington Oil the way to Blenheim witli passengers in Moths of the Wairarapa Aero Club. Mr. M. King flew a Western Federated Aero Club Moth to Wellington on Saturday with Mr. N. Tt. Nunn as passenger, returning yesterday to Wanganui. Beside the activity in cross-country flying, there was a heavy demand yesterday for "joy rides” in the Waco, and hooking had to stop about an hour and a half before flying ceased.
