Wrestling at Auckland By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, May 17. A professional heavyweight , wrestling contest between Savage (16st. Gib.) and Hank Oswald (14st. 101 b.) failed to last more than three rounds, Oswald being unable to continue after conceding a submission fall. Savage, who impressed as a particularly capable wrestler, forced his opponent to submit with a combination toehold and bar. Oswald received attention during the interval between the rounds, but as his knee had been badly wrenched he signified he did not wish to continue. The three rounds produced very solid wrestling, although it was apparent Hint Savage carried marked superiority. BOESCH BEATS RUSSELL By Telegraph.—-Press Association. Dunedin, May 17. Making his first appearance in a New Zealand wrestling ring. Paid Boesch accounted for "Rebel” Russell in an eightround contest held last night before a packed house. The contest was fast and exciting. Boesch, who is a clever, versatile wrestler, secured the only fall of the bout in the sixth round with a body press and face bar following a succession of drop-kicks. win for McCready By Telegraph.—Press Association. New Plymouth. May 17. McCready defeated Woods by one fall in one of the best wrestling bouts at New Plymouth for a long period. Despite a big advantage in weight.
