Third Party and Workers’ Compensation THE GOVERNMENT POLICY A suggestion made in certain quarters I hat the Government proposes to take over from insurance companies all third-parly risks and workers’ compensation cover was refuted on Saturday by the Prime Minister. Rt. lion. M. J. Savage, It was pointed out to him that rumours along these lines bad been Geely circulated. eliielly in Christchurch. and that there was said to lie a consequent tendency for insurance shares to weaken. "The mailer has received no consideration whatsoever,” the Prime MinIsler said. "To the best of my know ledge it has nut been raised by a single member of the Cabinet. I do not say the matter would not be considered if the necessity arose, but our aim is to leave matters in the hands of private enterprise until it can be shown that private enterprise has failed. That is the time for the .Slate to step in and assume control.”
