ROAD CYCLING

Race For 0. Hughes Cup

The Poneke Cycling Club will open its 1936 road season to-morrow, when an 11 miles race for the 0. Hughes Cup will be held. Previous winners of this trophy are M Thompson (1934) and F. Blackett (1935). The starting point will be from the Miramar Wfiarf, where dressing accommodation has been arranged. The course followed will be from the Miramar 'Wharf down the straight, past the powerhouse and turning into Salek Street, and then Coutts Street, down Kingsford Smith Street, to the left, passing Moa Point, Breaker Bay cutting, Seatouu, Worser Bay, and continuing around the bay past the Massey memorial, and finishing on the Miramar Wharf straight.
