BOXING AFFAIRS
Miramar Club’s Meeting
After being once postponed for want of a quorum, the annual meeting of the Miramar Boxing Club was held in the club gymnasium last night, there being an attendance of 27 members. Several new members were elected. It was decided to write to the Nev Zealand Boxing Council asking it.to reinstate the 1/- annual license fee' for all amafeur boxens, the money so raised to be allocated to the Oversea fund of the council. ft was reported that the total amount raised by the chib by various means to assist in sending T. Arbuthnot to the Olympic Games was about £42, and the remainder of the money required had been guaranteed by a supporter. Officers were elected as follow: Patron, Mr. L. Smith; president, Mr. W. H. Me Pbail; club vice-presidents, Messrs. G. Donoghue and A. Trower; hon. secretary, Mr. J. C. Troy; hon. treasurer, Mr. A. Trower; hon. auditor,- Mr. D. Sindall; management committee, Messrs. S. G. * Morrison, J. T. Gwynne, E. White, F. Dunn, JI. Daly, W. Kiernander and F. J. Davis, with x-oflicio officers; hon. instructor, Mr. P. H. Donoghue; assistant bon. instructor, Mr. J. Jones; hon. medical officers, Drs. Hogg, A. A. Tennent and Pacey; hon. solicitor, Mr. C. O. Bell. The vice-presidents as last year were re-elec-ed with the addition of Messrs. W Hawker, F. Flipp, 11. H. O’Sullivan, C. Denly, A. Lamb and W. Joseph.
