POLL CHALLENGED

Glen Eden Loan For Town Hall By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, May 13. Steps have been taken by Glen Eden ratepayers with a view to haying a magisterial recount and investigation into the recent loan poll held by the Glen Eden Town Board, and as a result a petition for an inquiry as to the validity of the poll will be heard before a magistrate on May 25. After the poll, which was on a proposal to raise £3509 for a new town hall, it was announced that 110 votes were cast for the proposal and the same number against. However, it was stated by the returning officer after a recount that one of the votes against the proposal had been found to bo invalid and that the scheme had therefore been approved by 110 votes to 109.
