Wellington Board Of Control The board of control of the Wellington Rugby League nt a meeting this week instructed the selectors, Messrs. L. Benseman, E. Buckland and G. Bradley, to choose a number of prominent players for inclusion in special week-end coaching classes prior to commencement of representative fixtures. Apart from the visit of the Englishmen in July, interprovincial games against Auckland, both locally and at Auckland, and at . least one South Island province seemed assured. It was decided to draw up a list of representative games with North Island leagues for presentation to clubs. It was decided to commence a third grade competition, for which several teams were offering, at an early date. A weight limit in this grade of lOst. 41b. was fixed, although a review of special cases would be given by the grading committee. For. the time being the no-replacement rule, decided upon by a majority vote at the recent Rugby League national conference in Auckland, will apply only to representative matches. Replacements up till half-time will be allowed in all club matches. Petone club advised that the official opening of Rugby League Park was to take place this week. The amount of approximately £lOO spent in putting the ground in order had been secured through the generosity of supporters in the Hutt Valley. . , „ The proposed constitution for the referees' association was approved, pending a conference of the board of control and that body to discuss several minor details. The transfers of A. Yule from bt. George to Central and H. Hayden from St. George to Ponsonby (Auckland) were approved. , The following fixtures were arranged for Saturday next: — Senior A: Central v. Hutt, at Newtown Park 3 p.m.; referee, Mr. Holmes. St. George v. Petone, at League Park, Petone, 3 p.m.; referee, Mr. Childs. Senior B : Central v. Hutt, nt NeSvtown Park, 2 p.m.; referee, Mr. O’Grady. St. George v. Petone, at League Park, Petone, 2 p.m.; referee, Mr. Harding.
