Girl Swimmer at Sydney (Received March 20, 8.15 p.m.) Sydney, March 20. Miss Pafj Norton won the open 100 yards swimming championship at the girls’ secondary schools carnival _ at the Domain baths in the record time of 62 seconds, beating Miss Frances Butt’s women’s record by three-fifths of a second.

Miss Norton, who has been selected for the Olympic Games, also won the 50 yards championship for girls aged 16 "in 28 3-ssec., the previous record being 30 l-ssec.
