Dominion Special Service. Masterton, March IS. Fat wethers made late rates at the weekly Masterton sale to-day, while fat ewes advanced slightly. A few particularly good lines of breeding ewes were offered, and these brought keen competition, a line of 4-year-olds offered on account of Mr. A. Gaddis topping the nuir* ket at 36/-. Lambs were a little easier, but wethers made late rates. Cattle: Fat cows, ex dairy, £4/1/-, £4/5/-, to £5/3/-: forward-condition cows, £3/16/- to £3/17/6; runners, £3 4/-; empty heifers, 30/-; store cows, £2 15/- to £3; bulls, £2/7/6 to £4/2/6; 18month Jersey heifers, £2/9/-; yearling Jersey heifers, £l/13/-; winter culvers, £4/10/-; spring calvers, £3/10/-. Bigs: Weaners, 5/-, 6/- 7/-, to 8/-; slips. 14/6, 15/-, to 21/6. Wright, Stephenson and Co. offered a yarding of 1437 sheep, effecting practically a total clearance nt the following range of prices:—Woolly ewe lambs, 19/2 to 19/8; shorn ewe lambs, 17/9 to 18/1; shorn wether lambs, 14/10 to 18/1; small wether lambs, 11/3 to 12/7; b.f. lambs. 13/9 to 15/6; small b.f. lambs, 11/7 to 12/2; woolly wether lambs, 17/to 18/4; small'woolly wether lambs. 8/3 to 10/6; 2-tooth wethers, 22/5 to 23/4; fat wethers, to 25/3; fat b.f. 2-tooths, to 22/-: fat b.f. lambs, to 20/1; s.m. ewes, to 17/10. Dalgety and Co. entered a fair yarding of sheep, realising the following values: —5-year ewes, 17/9 to 20/3; s.m. ewes, to 15/-; f. and f. ewes, to 15/6; store ewes, to 10/-; fat lairiliff, to 22/-; woolly wether lambs, to 17/-; small 2-tooth wethers, 20/1.
