Colonel F. Symon, Director of Artillery, left Wellington lust night for the south.
Mr. W. E. Best, Christchurch, left for the south on Saturday night. Mr. H. Beauchamp left Wellington on Saturday afternoon for the north.
Dr. F. Bowerbank has returned to ■Wellington from the South Island.
Dr. and Mrs. J. H. Beaumont have returned to Wellington from the north.
Mr. E. C. Hartridge left Wellington for the south on Saturday night. Dr. F. Ulrich, accompanied by Mrs. Ulric, left Wellington for the south on Saturday night.
Mr. W. H. Nankervis arrived at Wellington from the south on Saturday morning.
Mr. D. J. G. Johnston returned to Wellington from the south on Saturday.
Mr. W. M. Luke, of Canadian National Steamships, has returned to Wellington from the south. Mr. F. W. Manton left Wellington o:i Saturday night for the South Island.
Mr. A. E. Ramsden was a passenger for the south from Wellington on Saturday night.
Mr. W. T. Anderton, M.P., will represent the Mayor of Auckland, Mr. E. Davis, at the centenary celebrations conference at Wellington to-day. Mr. C. Alma Baker, of the Federated Malay States, who has been on a visit to New Zealand, will leave Auckland for Sydney by the Wanganella today.
Mr. C. M. Turrell, New Zealand manager of the New Zealand Shipping Company, has returned to Wellington from the south.
Colonel J. L. Sleeman, chief commissioner of the St. John Ambulance Brigade overseas, who has been tourin, New Zealand, will leave Auckland for Sydney by the Wanganella to-day.
Dr A. T. Howie, who has been in charge of the New Zealand Presbyterian Missionary Hospital at Canton fo. the last four years, will shortly return to the Dominion because of illhealth.
Mr. W. R. Adams, who has been in charge of the Moturoa School, New Plymouth, for the past nine years, has been appointed headmaster of the Otaki School. Before going to Taranaki, Mr. Adams was an organising teacher in Samoa. For many years lie was stationed in various Canterbury schools before going to the Islands.
Mr. Claude Kingston, joint director with Mr. Stanley Grant for the New Zealand tour of “White Horse Inn.” passed through Wellington on Saturday on his way from Christchurch to Auckland, where the Gilbert and Sullivan season is now in progress Before leaving Christchurch, Mr. Kingston arranged for members of the "White Horse Inn” company to present a concert last night, the proceeds to be devoted to the benefit fund being organised for the widow of the late Squadron Leader M. C. McGregor. A benefit concert for the same fund will also be given at Dunedin when the company reaches that city.
