STUD CHEVIOT RAM

Animal Noav on Somes Island The stud Cheviot ram, imported from Canada on behalf of Mr. J. AVebb. the well-known fat lamb judge, of Tathape, by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., was transhipped from the Cape York to the Jauie Sedilou on Saturday morning and taken to Somes Island for it period of quarantine. The animal arrived at AVellington in splendid condition, being quite up to expectations based on pre-reports. It is a beautiful handling ram, the wool being thick, but bv no means course. It is little wonder that the Cheviot tweed cloth, produced from the wool of the Cheviot sheel>. has achieved such fame for its wearing qualities, especially insofar as warmth and life are concerned. Air. AVebb has brought the ram into the Dominion to further his experiments to discover the most suitable breed.
