TENNIS CLUB OUTING
Gathering at Whakatiki More "than 50 members and friends of the Koro Koro Tennis Club went' to Whakatiki recently for ]hq club’s annual picnic. An excellent sporting programme was run, the results being as.follow:— 100yds. (men) :E. Haines, 1; G L Highfield, 2. 50yds.' (women) ; Miss K. Boswell, 1; Mis_s E. Haines, 2. Three-legged race.: Miss K. Boswell and J. Flux, 1. Egg-and-spoon (men): J. Scott, 1; J. Annear, . Egg-and-spoon (girls): Miss B. Fisher. Whistling race: Miss M. Toms and S. Shayle George, 1. Married women: Mrs. M. Dobson, 1; MrS. T. Watson, 2. Children’s egg-and-spoon : Theresa McNeill,'l; Jack Lomath, 2. Cigarette race: Miss J. Dobson and C. Platt, 1. Potato race (men): F. Baker, 1; S. Haines, 2. Potato race (girls): E. Haines, 1; E. McNeill. 2. Wheelbarrow race: E. Haines and Miss G. Thomas, 1; J. Scott and Miss K. McCarthy, 2. Boys’ race: Jimmy Annear, 1; Eddie Lomath, 2. Aston Villa have now broken.cvery record in the book. During November, 1935, they paid out roughly £40,000 for new players, and in the five years preceding, their payments must have amounted to £50,000. Altogether, a grand total of £90,000 in five years! /
