KILBIRNIE SPEEDWAY
Final Meeting of Season The final meeting of the 1935-36 speedway season will be held at Kilbirnie Stadium this evening, when the programme will include the first and only appearance of .the famous Australian Test rider, “Bluey” Wilkinson, who has just com-, pleted an exceptionally successful season in Australia. Wilkinson, whose performances in English league racing last season placed him at the top of the points list, has been booked after many weeks of negotiations, and at his own expressed wish he will be seen on Saturday in a special attempt on the track record recently put up by Eric Langton. The Great International Points Race will include “Bluey” Wilkinson, Dick Case, the popular Australian, and Wally Kihnister, who will make his last appearance at Kilbirnie prior to sailing for England, and the battle between these three great riders should be a fitting climax to the season’s racing. Wilkinson, Case and Kilmister nil adopt a spectacular style of riding “flat out” from start to finish. The programme will include a special handicap race, as well as scratch races and midgetcar races. A novelty on the programme will be the lady pillion-rider on Kilmister’s motor-cycle. Seats may be reserved at either the D.I.C. or C. E. Ciaridge, tobacconist, Manners Street. Special trams will run from Courtenay Place from 6.30 o’clock this evening.
