In the second column is given the return, based on the last annual dividend from investment at the Quoted price. In calculating the return on shares; jn companies which pay their dividends outside New Zealand the exchange rates have not been taken into consideration. ir.e return on 4 per cent. Government loans includes redemption. In the case of 3$ per cent, loans the return is for the interest alone, and covers only the period tor which the loans are tax-free: —
