The home team was dismissed for 88 and at stumps Australia had made 21G for tbc loss of one wicket. Richardson, upon winning the toss, sent iu the home side ou a wicket recovering from the effects of rain. \ iljoen made a bright 40 in 45 minute.-. Warner played stubbornly lor bis runs. The others were unable to -Jo anything against Grimmett and O’Reilly. Brown and O’Brien rapidly passed the Free State’s score before the former was dismissed.
