CAR CRASHES INTO POWER POLE
Small Boy Injured
Given a ride in a motor-car by a passer-by at about 3.40 on Saturday afternoon, a child named John-Skilton, aged four years, who lives with bis parents at 34 Puriri Street. Lower Hutt, suffered a severe lacerated wound to his left arm and bruises on his hip and abdomen when the car left the road and hit a power-line pole at the corner of Oxford Terrace and Matai Street a few minutes later. The car, driven by Mr. F. JI. Ryan, mounted the kerbing and crashed into the pole, bringing it and the lines down to the ground. The car was badly damaged.
Jlr. Ryan bad given another child a drive, but this one was not hurt. Jlr. Ryan also escaped uninjured. John Skilton was taken to the Wellington Hospital by the Free Ambulance.
