Hunterville Sale At tlie Hunterville sale last Thursday Dalgetv and Co. Ltd. had a fair entry of both sheep and cattle, mainly lambs in the sheep section. There was a good attendance and the sale opened strongly. Gattie were actively inquired for and there was practically a total clearance. Ip comparison with the large crowd which was at Castlecliff Beach to-day, the collection taken up to assist the members of (be Cnstleeliff surf section of the Royal Life-Saving Club to travel to Wellington to compete in the district championships, Wa,s poor. The ‘su mrealised was only £2/15/6. It was, however, acknowledged gratefully. During the afternoon the surf .section gave a display of life-saving. The Wanganui Garrison Baud was also on the beach, and played a programme of light music, which was fully appreciated. Kipling’s “Recessional” was appropriately included in the musical numbers. EXCURSION TO WANGANUI Wanganui, January 19. About 413 excursionists from Mataroa, Taihape and intermediate railway stations visited Wanganui to-day, picnicking at Cnstleeliff Beach, to where five special trams transported them from the station. Unfortunately the weather was very windy, making conditions on the beach unpleasant. Tlie travellers departed at 6 p.m.
