BETTER WOOL PRICES
Keen Demand in Australia

Sydney, January 13.
At the wool sales 12,609 bales were offered and 12,251 were sold, also 1328 privafely. The market was from par to 5 per cent, higher compared with last week’s closing rates. Competition was keen from Japanese, Yonkshire and Continental sections, with good support from local users. Greasy merino old to 31 d.
Last week’s average price was £lB 5/- a bale and 15.1 d. a pound. At the Perth wool sales competition was exceptionally keen, Bradford and Japan forcing prices up. An advance of fully 5 per cent, over all classes was recorded to-day.
