The most, notable among absentees in the post-sectional rinks play at rhe New Zealand bowling tournament will be last year’s winning rink from the Grey Lynn club skipped by Whittle. After tavo losses on Saturday Hie rink had to win both its games to-day and both to-morrow to be certain of postsectional play. In the fifth round this morning, Whittle suffered another surprise defeat at the hands of the Canterbury rink skipped by Gordon.. The leader in the section in which the Grey Lynn rink was entered is the IVest End, Timaru, rink, skipped by Currie, who had five wins in succession. He lost in the sixth round to Barlow (Sumner). Tyrrell, of Roslyn, who has live wins to his credit, is in charge of a rink which has done excellently so far, playing bowls worth going far to see. Another rink doing even better is the Dunedin one skipped by Anderson, which has had six wins. A Canterbury rink witli J. D. Marks as skip has also been playing good bowls. Represented this year for the first time at a Dominion tournament, the Avon, Stratford, club rink skipped by Dickinson has also been playing impressively, and is certain to be in the post-sectional play. Dickinson’s r:uk retained its lead in its section by beating the Kelburn rink with Gray as skip, the ehanees of which had also been greatly favoured. Rinks Which Have Qualified.
