SPIVAKOVSKY-KURTZ CONCERTS

Plans will be opened to-morrow morning at the D.I.C. for the two concerts to be given on Saturday and Monday evenings - next in the Town Hall Concert Chamber by the famous SpivakovskyKurtz trio of instrumentalists. These three eminent, musicians have been playing together in Europe and in Australia for more than five years, but behind this they have had a lifetime of intimate acquaintance and musical s’tudy in common, in addition to identity of racial'and donnwtie interests. It is not astonishing, then, that these three should play almost as - one instrument, and unity in expression its surely the essence ol ensembleplaying. Apart from their trio work, each artist is a soloist of the very front rank, and on their previous visit to New Zealand the programmes were found all too short to allow any one of the players to exhibit bis- full stature as a musician. The programmes will include trios, sonatas. and solos for each instrument. Mi*. Noel Newson is the accompanist.
