FATAL INJURIES

Miner Crushed by Box of Coal By Telegraph—Press Association. Invercargill, January 13. A fatal accident occurred this morning at the Linton coal mine. A full box of coal ran over the jighead and severely crushed John McLeod, ma’r ried, aged 60, who received a fractured right thigh and several broken ribs. Ho was taken in an ambulance from Ohai to the Southland Hospital, but died at 5 o’clock this afternoon. An inquest will be held.
