OBITUARY

Mr. R. S. Thomson

Following a brief illness, tbe death occurred on Saturday of Mr. Robert Steel Thomson, states a Special Service message from Wanganui. Mr. Thomson was keenly interested in racing and was a member of the Wellington Racing Club. Wanganui Jockey Club and Wanganui Trotting Club. For many years in business in Hunterville, Mr. Thomson retired some 12 years ago and had since resided in Wanganui. He was a staunch member of the Wanganui Commercial Club and-was to be seen almost daily on the . Wanganui Golf Club links. He was not married and is survived by two brothers ami two sisters who reside in the Nelson district. Tlie funeral left tlie residence of .Mr. Thomson's nephew, Mr. Robert Cook, 8 llolyoake Street, Wanganui East, for tbe Aramaho Cemetery on Sunday afternoon, and was largely attended by friends in Wanganui, Hunterville and Marton, and by members of those clubs with which he was associated. The pall-bearers were Messrs. R. Cook, C. Maun, C. S. Swan, G. G. Burgess, I. S. Wallace (Wanganui) and L. J. Thompson (Hunterville). Mrs. M. M. Collinson The death has occurred in a private hospital at Palmerston North following injuries received iu a motor accident on 'Boxing Day, of Mrs. Mary Martha ■ Collinson, of Foxton, states a Special Service message. Mrs. Collinson had been a resident at Foxton since 1915, when she arrived from Scotland with her husband. She was born at Maibern, Scotland, and was 69 years of age. She leaves a husband but no family.
