At. the Palmerston North High Schools’ breaking-up ceremony on Tuesday night the rector of the boys’ school, Mr. J. Murray, announced that Bruce Clegg, who had secured the dux medal, had, as an extra-mural student of Victoria University College, now completed all except one of the subjects for his B.A. degree. The results of his final papers in economics would be cabled from England in January, and if successful in that he would have the arts degree complete as well as a diploma of social science. In recognition of his success and bis personal qualities, Clegg received, in addition to the dux medal, a special prize given by Mr. A. J. Graham. He was given an ovation from his schoolfellows.
