EVEREST VENTURE

Leader of Expedition (British Official Wireless.) Kugby, December 16. Twelve members of the party which will make an attempt «u Mount Everest, next year have been chosen. The leader is Mr. Hugh Ruttledge, and the party Includes eight others, of whom Mr. F. S. Smythe is one, who have already climbed once or more times on Everest. The selectors have hud the assistance of the central medical establishment of the Royal Air Force in choosing candidates best fitted to the special conditions of the Everest attempt.

Leader of the 1933 expedition to Mount Everest, Mr. Hugh Ruttledge on that occasion, with Mr. If. S. Smythe and Mr. L E. Shipton, climbed to within 1000 ft. of the summit.
