An elderly man, described as a retired farmer, of Raupare, appeared in the Napier Magistrate’s Court this morning charged with the attempted murder of his wife on December 1.0. Air. T. .1, Ann, J.P.. and Mr. A E, Bed ford. J.l’., were on the bench, and In specter Fitzpatrick represented the police Accused had to be assisted into court. On the application of the Inspector. accused was remanded until January 22 In Hie meantime he is to be sent to a menial insliiiilmn I'm treatment and observation. His name was suppressed.
