4 Automobile Associations’ Project With a capital of £1250, the registration has been made of the Automobile Associations Publishing Company, Ltd., the object being the publication, from early in the new year, of a national monthly motor journal with a free circulation at the present time to 36,000 members of the automobile associations. The directors of the company are: North island, Mr. E. Palliser, representing the Automobile Association (Wellington) ; Mr. R. W. Roydhouse (Carterton), representing the Automobile Associations of Wairarapa, Manawatu and Hawke’s Bay; Mr. A. S. Burgess, the Automobile Association of Wanganui, Taranaki and South Taranaki; South Island, Mr. IV. R. Carey, the Automobile Association, Canterbury, the Ashburton Motor-Cycle Club and the Pioneer Motor Club; Mr. F. J. Williams, the Automobile Association, Otago, Automobile Association, North Otago, Automobile Association, Southland, and the Southland Motor-Cycle Club; and Mr. C. M. Rout, the Automobile Association, Nelson, Automobile Association, Marlborough, Automobile Association, South Canterbury, and the Automobile Association, Waimate. Mr. W. G. Walkley, of Hawera, secretary of the North Island Motor Union, has been appointed secretary to the company, and Mr. H. A. Gilbert, formerly news editor and motor editor of the Christchurch “Sun,” and latterly of the advertising staff of “The Dominion,” has been appointed managingeditor.
The object of the journal is to enable the associations to keep their members advised of activities of organised motoring and at the same time create public opinion in matters connected with the automobile world.
