Government to take all steps necessary for the protection of British soldiers and other Europeans in Egypt. Sir Miles Lampson telephoned a protest lo Ihe I’rinie Minister, Nessim P.'tslm, saying that such incidents might have serious political consequences.
Nessim Pasha, after expressing regret, requested Nahas I’asba to use his influence to restrain hooliganism, which would only embitter the relations between England and Egypt.
More disturbances occurred on Saturday following a manifesto of the Students’ Committee that the demonstrations would continue until Britain granted the draft treaty of 1930, Forty arrests were made.
The mob dragged a British soldier from his motor-cycle, but the students rescued him, after which all troops were conduct! to their barracks.
