WHITE BUTTERFLIES
Definite Decrease in the Manawatu “There is no doubt there lias been a definite decrease in the number of white butterflies in the Manawatu, but to what extent it is yet a bit. difficult to say,” said the Government entomologist stationed at Palmerston North, Mr. J. Muggridge, when interviewed by “The Dominion.” Mr. Muggridge stated that so far as the country between Levin and Wanganui was concerned he could say definitely that the white butterflies were well under control, and although it was clear the numbers had been greatly reduced he would be in a bettor position to judge the extent of the decrease at a later stage in the season. Toward the end of January he should be aide fo make a positive statement.
