Farming For Men on

Sustenance

Recently the Wellington City Missiouer, Rev. T. Fielden Taylor, announced a co-operative farm scheme with the object of employing in the country some city men who are at present on sustenance. Mr. Taylor told “Tbe Dominion” yesterday that he had received the offer of 200 acres of laud at Clareville, Wairarapa, for the purpose at £lO an acre, and he was endeavouring to arrange finance for the scheme. It was hoped, he said, that about 12 men could be placed ou the land under a farm manager and work on the co-operative principle. Until the men were able to support themselves, he said, it would be necessary for the sustenance allowance to continue.
