Seatoun Presbyterians In tlie absence of tlie uiinister. the Rev. A. A. Armstrong, the Rev. W. R. Alilne acted as moderator at the annual meeting of the Biesbyterinii congregation. There was a good at tendance. The report of the session, covering the spiritual work of the chtireh, said that the minifitter had given very faithful and effective service during the year. Sympathy was expressed because of personal troubles which had made bis work unusually difficult, but in spite-of this bis sympathy and help were never failing where there was need. During the year, through his influence, Bible teaching bad been established in the Seatoun school. It was required that the session be strengthened as soon as possible, as owing to death and removal tlie eldership had lost valuable members. There had been five removals from the roll and twelve additions. ami with the arrival of a number of new families in tlie district the congregation was showing improved attendances. The session appealed to all members to give sincere and united services to the church, and to look with confident hope for purposes in the new year’s work The board of managers presented a report and balance-sheet covering the church activities during the year. While the effects of the changing conditions* still pressed heavily on small congregations, Iho report revealed that a total income of 1’196 had been raised, and that rhe overdraft bad remained about the same as the previous year. There was an increase in Iho church offerings of about £3(l. and (lie managers hoped. owing (o fho heavy liabilities, that improvement would continue. Several liberal donations had been of great assistance, and tlie Cameron bequest of £5O had rcduecil the debt oif the church. The mortgages had been reconstructed and consolidate') with lower interest. Tlie managers thanked the Unitarian Church trustees for a iibernl discount in settling the organ account, the ladies’ guild for having raised £6O. fbe united Bible classes for £l5/15/-, Air. W. F. Morrison for his services as auditor, .and the moderator for presiding. The golden offering taken nt the previous communion had amounted (o over £25.
The following were elected ns a board for the new year Messrs. Murray. Walker, Byers, Dunn, Duncan and button, Mesdames Byers and Harkness, and Miss O. McFarlane.
