Sir Williain Hunt was. a passenger from Wellington for. the south last night,

Sir Louis Barnett arrived at Wellington yesterday morning from the south and left again on his return at night. Sir Hugh Acland arrived at Wellington from Christchurch yesterday morning and left again for the south at night.

Mr. D. F. Bauchop, general manager of Leyland Motors Ltd., has returned to Wellington from the south. Dr. R. Jack, of the University of Otago, arrived at Wellington from the south yesterday.

Dr. E. F. D’Ath, of the University of Otago, was a passenger to Wellington yesterday morning from the south.

Dr. O. F. A. de Monchaux arrived at Wellington yesterday morning from Dunedin.

Dr. D. W. Carmalt Jones, of tlie University of Otago, arrived at Wellington yesterday morning from Dunedin. Dr. L, A. Bennett arrived at Wel-

lington from Christchurch yesterday morning and left at night for the south. Mr. E. C. Hands, general manager of the New Zealand Broadcasting Board, was a passenger from Wellington last night for the north. Mr. Lester Brown, New Zealand advertising and publicity manager for Fox Film Corporation (A’asia), Ltd., will leave for Sydney by the Aorangi to attend the auuual convention. Dr. J. O. Mercer, formerly assistant pathologist at Wellington Hospital, has been promoted to the status of pathologist. The services of Dr. P. P. Lynch will still be available to the hospital as consultant pathologist. Messrs. P. N. Rundle, C. Gordon. Elasm, Harris, Jamieson and Vine, of the Vacuum Oil Co., Pty., Ltd., left Wellington last night for tho South Island.

Mr. W. T. Hornibrook, train-running officer in the district traffic manager’s office at Auckland, lias been appointed stationmaster at Ohakunc, and has taken up his duties. Mr. J. Brown, who has retired from tlie directorate of the Taranaki Producers’ Freezing Works Company, bad been a director of the company since

its inception in 1901. He was chairman of directors from 1925 to 1934. Mr. J. C. Yeomans, manager of the Chelsea refinery of tlie Colonial Sugar Refining Company, Limited, has been promoted to the position of manager of the company’s largest refinery at Pyrinont, Sydney, and will leave New Zealand In time to take up ills duties early in December. Mr. Yeomans has been

manager at Chelsea for about ten years.
