BOWLER FAREWELLED
Transfer to Rarotonga
Members of the Thorndon Bowling Club met at the club’s social room on Thursday evening to bid farewell to Mr. W. T. Goodwiu. of the Horticultural Department who has been appointed Director of Horticulture at Rarotonga.
Mr. Casey, president of the club, spoke of Mr. Goodwin's long ..association with the club and the good work he had done, and wished him good health and the best of luck. He then presented Mr. Goodwin with a full set of bowls as a token of esteem in which he was held by his fellow members, and his health was drunk with musical honours. Mr. Goodwin, in replying, said file present was the most appropriate they could have given him. He had many regrets in leaving Wellington, and not the least was leaving the old club which he hud joined as a beginner and in which he had spent the whole of his bowling career. Mr. Goodwiu will leave Wellington on Tuesday,
