TROTTING

Auckland and Addington Meetings HORSES IN FORM (By Overcheck.) The Auckland Trotting Club will bold a meeting to-day, and this will be. i'o’lowcd by another next Saturday. Some ot the fields are rather poor, but nevertheless the the racing should be interesting. The programme is as follows ROYAIToAK HANDICAP, of £115; unhoppled trotters; 3.42 class. Ono mile and a half. v Autumn Lou .. scr Mountain Sun . ••o Great Admiral . 21 Mute 13 There is a very disappointing field. in the Royal Oak Handicap.' Great Admiral appears certain to be a firm favourite. Mute may be considered to be tee next best in demand.

Of the scratch division in the Mt. Eden Handicap, Proletarian, Gloster aud Parochial have each shown promise of developing into useful performers. Meadow King was a useful trotter, but may find it difficult to beat this field as a vacer. Charteris Bay reads better than Derby Fame, but in Kenworthy be is meeting a good class horse. Possibly the public will decide in favour of Proletarian, Gloster and Parochial.

AVGUST HANDICAP, of £200; 4.31 class. Two miles.

Lady Coronado scr ' Auto Machine . 36 Manoeuvre . • scr Kewpie’s Nimbus scr Triumph 36 Smooger .... 12

While Kewpie’s Triumph failed at Addington he promises to be favourite iu the August Handicap, and his recent racing should help him to victory. Of the scratch division lam inclined to favour the chances of Manoeuvre, and Smoogei- is capable of running out a solid two miles, while Auto Machine has been working well. The most favoured may be Kcwpie's Triumph. Manoeuvre and Smooger.

ONEIIUNGA HANDICAP, of £125: 2.50

class. One mile and a quarter. Edna Worthy . scr Nelson de Oro . 24 Ringtrue ... ser War Paint .... 3G Hohoro 12 Wee Machine . 4S

Few will be inclined to select anything to‘head off Ringtrue, and he is likely to see a very short price. Edna Worthy is useful but prefers a firm track. Mee Machine has been working well, ana may be the best of the others.

2.4,"— INTRODUCTORY HANDICAP, of £100; unhoppled trotters; 3.49 class, Om: mile and a half.

Ellssa scr Captain Bolt .. 36 Native Princess scr Ando Patch ... 48 Nelson Chief .. scr Worthy Nor .. 60 Nelson’s Glory scr Young Rodney 60 Nelspear .... scr Autumn Lou .. S 4

Of those on scratch in the Introductory Handicap", Nelson’s Glory and Native Princess have the best credentials. If the going is firm Ando Patch may defeat Captain Bolt at a difference of 12 yards, while Worthy Nor is preferred to_ either Young Rodney or Autumn Lou. Ntison’w Glory. Worthy Nor, and Ando Patch may be most support.

3.20 — GREY LYNN HANDICAP, of £410; 3.40 class. One mile and a half. Bismuth ser Our McKinney . 12 Kewpie’s Crest ser Replica 12 King's Play ... scr General Sarsfield 24 Tlnokaha ' ... ser Ironside 48 Nelson Luvan . 12 Star Pronto ... 72

In the Grey Lynn Handicap King’s Blay reads the best of those on scratch, but. in Our MeKinney and Replica, on 12 yards, he will find two strong contenders for major honours.' The latter won at Ashburton last May in 3.22 2-5. General Sarsfield, another south horse, ran second to Grand Mogul nt the same meeting, registering 3.22 3-5. Ironside being unplaced. On the whole King’s Play Rc>>lica and General Sarsfield may be. preterm! by investors.

3.55— MASSEY MEMORIAL HANDICAP. of £140; 2.46 class. One mile, and a quarter.

Kewpie’s Guy . ser Woe Machine . scr Lady Coronado ser Nimbus 12 Manoeuvre .... ser Mountain Dell 60 Smooger .... scr

Form earlier in the day should assist iu selecting the probable winner of the Massey Memorial Handicap, but Kewpie’s Guy and Mountain Dell arc fresh horses. .Sixty yards is a lot of ground to give ajvay over ten furlougs. and the latter may be' dropped on that account. Three likely ones appear to be Kewpie’s Guy. Manoeuvre and Smooger.

4.35— ORAKEI HANDICAP, of £110; 3.34 class. One mile and a half. Rockella .... scr Silver' Watch . 24 Star Pronto ... scr Transworthy .. 24 Wluikihihi ... ser War Girl 24 Eliminate ... 12 Blandford ... 48 Kewpie’s Boud 24 June Nordica . 48 Peter Junior .. 24 King’s Warrior 48

Rockella has shown usefur form in the north, while Star Pronto registered three wins last seafcon. Kewpie’s Bond and Transworthy may be the best of those on 24 yards, while of those further back King's Warrior will probably carry most support. When the machine closes it may be found that Kewpie’s Bond. Rockella and Transwortby hold pride of place so far as investments arc concerned.

1.0— MT EDEN HANDICAP, of £100; Jo class. One mile and a quarter. Aerial Bell ■■■■ scr Parochial scr Anthony’s Gift scr Proletarian .... scr Brown Betty .. scr Spesslva .... scr Dean Parrish . scr Worthy Song • scr Gloster scr Meadow King . 24 Golden Bramble scr Charter is Bay . *»6 King’s Guide .. scr Derby Fame • • 30 Mapula scr Kenworthy ... 30
