MIRAMAR TENNIS CLUB
Officers Elected at Annual Meeting
Steady progress made by the Miramar Tennis Club in the past year was commented upon by the president, Mr. 11. B. Townsend, at the fourth annual meeting which was held in the club' pavilion last night.
The club captain. Mr. A. W. Cooper, referred to the additional teams in the inter-club competitions. He urged a more general participation in the umpiring duties by members, hoping that this would be borne in mind in the coming season Proposed alterations in the rules involving an iucrease in the number of office-bearers, including the management committee, and in the subscription for male members were adopted. Mr. P. Henry, who played a large part n the foundation and development of the club and has occupied the position of secretary, was elected the first life member. The following officers were elected :— President, Mr. H. B. Townsend; vice-pre-sidents, Messrs. A. W. Cooper, F. Marshall, and C. Adams; club captain. Mr. A. W. Cooper; vice club captain, Mr. L. Elborn ; secretary. Mr. P. Henry; assistant secretary, Mr. F. C. Hay; treasurer, Mr. L. G. Macdonald; management committee. Messrs. C. Adams. 11. Clarke, .1. Telford, F. Marshall, A. D. Pinkerton, E. G. Davis, J. Goodwin, I. Davis and A. Williams.
The club will open its season on Saturday, September 14.
