Coin Afternoon
The committee and matron of the St. Barnabas Babies’ Home Society, Khandallali, invite all those interested to attend a coin afternoon to assist the funds of the home, and to be held at the home to-morrow afternoon, commencing nt half-past two. Afternoon tea will be provided, and there will be attractively stocked cake and flower stalls.
Wanganui League of Mothers
Presided over by the Mayoress of Wanganui, Mr. W. J. Rogers, a large meeting of women was held in Wanganui on Wednesday afternoon for the purpose of forming a branch of the League of Mothers.
The following provisional committee was appointed : —Mesdames C. S, L. McKinnon, J. Summerell, Peters, G. Hardy, C. A. Piper, F. H. Uttlcy, C. A. Smith, A. IL Norrie, S. Goodey and G. Fear. During the afternoon several songs were sung by Miss Merle .Spurdie. and Mrs. H. W. Kersley conveyed greetings from other branches.
