Committees Report to Executive 'At. a meeting - yesterday • morning of the executive of the Wellington War Relief Association, .reports were, presented by'the chairman. Mr. L. O. 11. Tripp, on behalf of the applications, emergency, and finance committees. It was stated that the emergency committee bad met on 19 occasions since tlie executive meeting of July 29. 1935. and. dining-that period dealt with 84 claims, all of which were confirmed by the applications committee, which met on four occasions and disposed of. 126 applications, 'l'here were 42 applications still under consideration, and the total number' of claims received am'ofinied to 168. •q’bere h.'id' tier.n, no alteration in the general, activities of, the committee ; assistance differing widely in description bad .been given to disabled soldiers, io men who were discharged, .fit and subsequently developed n war di'-ability. to th° widows of sold'ers who fell in action, and of others who died of natural causes. Assistance had also been given to many others in necessitous circumstances, particularly Io those ex-servicemen who. as i result' of economic conditions bad -been forced tn take np relief work.
