YESTERDAY’S WEATHER.
Wellington— Dull and threatening with light rain occasionally iallmg. A stioii„ north-westerly wind prevailed. The minimum temperature on Sunday night was 47.1 deg., the maximum yesterday ul.sdeg„ which was the reading at-1 p.m. Rainfall at "The Dominion” building for the 24 hours to midnignt. 0.04 m. Rainfall for Julv 2.78 in.; for year, 20.84111. Palmerston North.— Cold and bleak, with steady rain. Slightly improved conditions in thp evening. Absence of wind. . Masterton.— Glimpses of sunshine; heavy passing clouds; strong northerly breeze. Waipukurau.— Beautiful sunshine prevailed throughout the week-end. Yesteiday was dull and overcast, and late in the afternoon misty rain fell. . • Auckland. — Very wet. A northerly wind increased to a fresh breeze early in the morning and afterwards frequent heavy showers were experienced until the afternoon when the conditions improved. The barometer fell to 29.75 m. and Christcliurch.— Warm and pleasant with a fresh north-north-east breeze in the morning, changing to light north-west in the afternoon The maximum temperature was G2.Sdeg. The barometer was rising and stood at 29.68 in. Dui'ctlin.— Verv pleasant, weather, the sun shining from a clear sky. AM westerly wind prevailed, and the maximum temperature was GOdeg—the highest temperature recorded since May' 17. ,
