NEW WOOL PROCESSES

Inspection by Mr. Forbes UNSHRINKABLE FABRICS ♦Supplied and released by the New. Zealand Government.) London, June 20. A particularly interesting feature of the New Zealand Prime-Minister’s visit to the wool industries research station at Torridon, Leeds, was an extensive exhibit of yarn and unmanufactured materials illustrating the new process of unshrinkable wool fabrics. This process, developed at Torridon, is being thoroughly tried out on a considerable scale in order to explore its commercial possibilities, and if it is successful it will be of great value both to producers and manufacturers. Another new fabric for upholstering motor-cars has great possibilities which are being explored, and samples are being sent to New Zealand. i The question of initiating a wool publicity campaign was discussed at length with wool experts. The subject is arousing interest particularly in view of the American campaign now in progress. The general view appeared to be that the time has arrived when serious consideration should be given to the formulation of a plan of action. MR. FORBES AS GUEST Mayfair Hotel Reception a London, June 2G. * The New Zealand High Commissioner, Sir James Parr, gave a reception for Mr. G. W. Forbes at the Mayfair Hotel. Five hundred New Zealanders were present.
