TRADE IMPROVING
Conditions in Argentina * ! London, June 26. A definite improvement in economic conditions in Argentina is indicated in a report by the commercial counsellor at the British Embassy in Buenos Aires to the Department of Overseas Trade. He says that the year 1934 marked the Republic’s emergence from the trough of the depression in which it had been engulfed since the collapse of the world’s economic structure, steady effort both by the Government and the people having at last begun to show positive results. During the year ended June 30, 1934, the United Kingdom exports to the Argentine increased by £1,500,000 over the corresponding period of 1932-33, and it is hoped that there will be a further increase in Argentine purchases from the United Kingdom in 1935.
