Federal Cabinet Meets at Perth SPEECH BY DR. PAGE Effort to Remedy Causes of Dissatisfaction By Telegraph.—Press Assu.—Copyright. (Received June 25, 8.30 p.m.) Perth, June 25. Eight Federal Ministers, accompanied by 25 officials, have arrived to conduct the first Federal Cabinet meeting ever held at Perth. The Acting-Prime Minister, Dr. Earle Page, replying to a civic reception, said: “We have come to Western Australia on this occasion to try to learn where we may cure any of the defects that, unfortunately, have been apparent. Western Australia’s progress since the Federation has been phenomenal, and I have every confidence In Its future.” ,« Dr. Page announced that he was submitting a scheme for co-operation between the Commonwealth and States iu related activities conducted by the different Governments. It was an expansion of the Loan Council principle, proposing the formation of councils consisting of Ministers and departmental heads controlling different activities in order to develop them on a national basis.
