BEAUTY AND HOMELINESS
“Have you ever had any regrets or grieved because you were not beautiful?” Edna May Oliver, the famous ’screen star, was interviewed by a Hollywood writer on this question. Her reply should warm every woman who goes through life evading the mirror: “Being homely,” said Edna gravely, ‘‘has brought me success on the stage and on .the screen. It has given me friendships that will survive until death. It has freed- me from the bondage of fear, and has endowed me with an appreciation of beauty that makes life wonderful.”
