WELFARE WORK

Citizens’ Day Nursery Lady Gray presided over a meeting of the Citizens’ Day Nursery committee recently, when many important matters were discussed. A bridge party in aid of the funds is to be held in the St. John Ambulance Hall, Vivian Street, on May 7, and a jumble sale on May 31, in the Clyde Quay Hall. On behalf of the committee, Lady Gray presented Mrs. Firth, who will leave for England shortly, with a small gift of a bottle of scent and a bouquet, as token of good wishes for a happy voyage and safe return. Lady Gray spoke of Mrs. Firth’s kindness and skilled assistance as treasurer of the society. Mrs. Firth thanked the committee and said she looked forward to many more happy days with her fellowmembers. The committee were the guests of Mrs. Firth for tea.
