Tech. O.G A v. Tech. O.G. B. A friendly spirit was evident m this match last Saturday, and the A team had a popular win by 62 runs. The batswomen upon whom most ot the run-get-ting usually falls ju the A ream were dismissed rather quickly by J Mack and M. Sheridan, but P. Brogan and C. Robertson came to light with a good partnership, and between them added 92 runs-to the score H. Buck played well behind the wickets, and was responsible for smartly running out one member or the B team. R. Hunter took a nice catch at point, dismissing F Douglas College O.G. v. Y.VV.C.A Au interesting game was played between these teams, which resulted in a draw College O.G. won .he ’ toss, and elected to bat first, sending in M. Rofe and J. Watson. From a rather foolish attempt at a single, Rofe was run out in the first few minutes of the game. Watson soon followed her, clean bowled by Hatcher, who was bowling with the wind. M Corby and I. Pickering then got going, and stayed in until the end of the C.O.G. innings Both batted confidently, and gave a good exhibition of strokes. M. Corby, ir particular, drove the ball hard to the boundary many times, and swung many balls to the leg boundary, She hit seven fours, while I. Pickering hit four fours. Scoring was slow at first, but later improved considerably. None of the bowling seemed to trouble the batswomen, though D. Hatcher was bowling well with the wind. For Y.W.C.A. Westbrook and Stenberg put up a stubborn defence and batted well, until Westbrook was bowled by M. Corby, who was bowling with the wind. Dot Hatcher showed her capabilities as a bat, and with proper coaching would be one of Wellington’s best batswomen. The game finished in a very uncertain light at 6 p.m., with the score C.O.G--2/127 (declared), and Y.W.C.A 6/100. Match With Wanganui. The Wanganui representative team is expected to arrive on Friday evening, and will play the Wellington team on Saturday at the Basin Reserve. Wellington is fielding its strongest side and u good game should result. A junior representative game is expected to be played at Nairn Street Park as a wind-up for the season.
