WARMTH IN WINTER

. Essential in Buildings Warmth during the cold winter months is an absolute essential in modern buildings which have dual purposes in serving the public and the tenants, and this has been well looked after in the Prudential Life Assurance Company’s new building by Jenkins ami Mack, who are well-known throughout New Zealand for this class of work. Jenkins and Mack have installed “Ideal” radiators and boilers, which are manufactured at Hull, England. These boilers are heated by means of “Filma,” well-known oil burners, which are thermostatically controlled. The burners automatically heat the boilers to the temperature desired, and then shut off when that temperature is reached. As the temperature falls they again come come into operation, so that the heat is kept at an even level. No attendance whatever is required as everything is thermostatically controlled. Several “Ideal” radiators have been made with this system, and flattering comments have been passed as to the comfort of the rooms and buildings in which they have been installed. The boilers are fixed in the basement, and the hot water is conveyed to every room in the building by means of pipes, the heat being given off by radiators placed in the rooms.
