SHOULD REMAIN YET
Honours Boards at Terrace School As long as the Terrace School remains open in any form the honours boards should remain there to remind pupils of the great part the school had played jn the early life of the city. These sentiments were expressed by members of the Kelburn School Committee at a recent meeting, and'it was decided that a sub-committee should inspect the Terrace School and report back to the next meeting of the Kelburn committee." Mr. J. Turner, previously chairman of the Terrace committee and now a member of the Kelburn committee, said the honours boards were of historical value, and it would be a pity to see them destroyed. Many notable names appeared on these boards, including* those of five Rhodes Scholars, who, during their primary school days, had attended the school. There.were also boards dealing with the South African and Great Wars, as well as many photographs of interest as recording the life of one of the. city’s oldest schools. The Terrace School is at present used by classes up to standard 2, and is now a side school of Kelburn district.
