BACK FROM ENGLAND

Mrs. Richards on Holiday Among the arrivals from England, by the Tainul were Air. and Airs. T. R. Richards, of the “Old Alalt House.” near Newbury, Hampshire, England, who intend during the next seven or eight weeks to tour the whole of New Zealand.

Air. Richards is an English air pilot, who flies for his own pleasure only. Some two and a half years ago he was pilot for Lady Chaytor on a flight from England to Australia, and did a good deal of flying in that country. On his way Home he called at Auckland, but did not come south. Airs. Richards was formerly Aliss Alary Lennie, A.T.C.L., of AVelljngton, daughter of Air. and Airs. C. D. Lennie, Island Bay, and she was formerly one of AVellington’s most promising pianists. Aliss Lennie married over two years ago, since when she has resided in England and toured on the Continent. Air. and Airs. Richards now reside in the charming 500-year-old “Old Malt House,” a very picturesque Hampshire mansion, which is regarded as one of the most perfect examples of Elizabethan homes extant in England and which has an interesting history. Airs. Richards said that with the great amount of travelling she has done since she has been married—• through France, Italy, Germany, .Switzerland, Belgium, and other places —she has rather neglected the piano, but intends on her return to England to resume her studies, possibly at ths Royal Academy of Music. ECONOMICAL KNITTING. The only real way to economise in knitting is to use none but the best wool; for the better the quality the longer the length. Batons and Baldwins’ the world’s best wools, have greater length, unequalled softness and elasticity. Nicest to work with. Best in wear and washing. Send for free catalogues of latest booklets to Patous and Baldwins Ltd., Box 1441W, Wellington.—Advt.
