Union Shield Match

The Union Shield teams rifle shooting match which was postponed from January 26, on account of ammunition, was fixed for April 27 next at a meeting of the executive of the Wellington Rifle Association. A supply of 1920 cordite ammunition has been made available for the occasion. .It was also decided that as this is to be the final shoot of the season, a suitable social function would be held at the conclusion of the match. To meet the wishes o f those riflemen attending the national meeting in March, the schedule of ranges for the next three Saturdays has been amended slightly, the distances for next Saturday being 300 and 600 yards (10 shots at each range) while the ranges for February 16 and 23 have been transposed, SOO yards being fired on February 16 and 300 yards On February 23.
