Tournament Commences (Received January 20, 6.30 p.m.) Melbourne, January 19. ' The centenary croquet tournament; opened to-day. Colonel Du Pre (England), Mr. H. I’. Stratton (New Zealand) ami Messrs. C. J. Miller and J. C. 'Windsor (Australia) took part in an exhibition game. Forty-four players have entered for the singles championship, which is virtually a world’s championship. There are 19 pairs in the doubles, which begin on Monday.
