Annual Meeting Next Week

CARNEGIE FELLOWSHIP The annual meeting of the Senate of the University of New Zealand will commence in Christchurch on Thursday next, January 17, and continue for several days. Wellington members are: Professor T. A. Hunter, vicechancellor of the University; Professor J. Rankiue Brown, chairman of the standing committee of the Academic Board; Dr. W. P. Evans; Messrs. P. Levi, M.A.; H. F. von Haast, M.A., LL.B.; F. H. Bakewell, M.A.; J. B. Callan, K.C.; L..J. Wild, M.A., B.Sc.; N. T. Larabourue, M.A., Director of Education; E. T. Norris, M.A., Registrar of the University. During its sitting the Senate will award a Carnegie Corporation Fellowship. granted by the corporation through the Universities Bureau of the British Empire, to enable a member of the teaching or administrative staffs of the Universities to go abroad. The fellowship is of an annual value of £4OO and is tenable for-one year.

The annual address to the Senate will be delivered by the Chancellor of the University, Professor J. Macmillan Brown.
